Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS)
Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is a condition in which there is compression, injury, or irritation of blood vessels and nerves in the space between your collarbone and your first rib.
Numbness and tingling of fingers
Impaired circulation to the extremities (discolored, cold hands)
Weakness of the hand and arm muscles
Following a detailed history, orthopedic tests and a neurological evaluation will be performed to determine if you have TOS. X-rays may reveal an extra rib (cervical rib) that is contributing to your TOS. X-rays may also rule out other conditions that may be causing your symptoms. In some cases, a specialized protocol of MRI studies may be recommended.
