Fall Risk & Vertigo Assessment
Dr. Afzal uses computerized posturography to provide quantitative analysis for patients who suffer from symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease, early onset dementia, vertigo, post-concussion syndrome, etc. to measure stability or fall risk.
Videonystagmography is used in vestibular assessment and is a technology for testing the inner ear and central motor functions. Infrared goggles are placed on the patient to trace eye movements during a series of different visual stimulation and positional changes. VNG can determine whether dizziness is caused by inner ear disease, like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
